BLOOMFIELD, NJ– The Bloomfield College men's basketball team halted a three-game skid in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play Saturday afternoon with a 98-88 win over visiting Georgian Court University. The victory in front of an energized crowd Improved the home team's overall record to 9-9 with a 5-4 mark in league play. The Lions saw their record mirror the Bears in the setback leaving them at 9-9 overall and 5-4 conference action.
Andres Fulgencio (Englewood, NJ) fueled the offensive attack with a season-high 29 points as the starter went 8-of-13 from the field which included a 'lights-out' 7-for-10 from three-point range. Fulgencio also went a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe as he snagged 5 boards, dished out 2 assists and blocked 2 shots.
Josh Morris (Ewing, NJ) came off the bench to dominate, knocking down 8-of-14 shots for 20 points and snagged a game and career-high 16 rebounds. As a team, Bloomfield out-rebounded GCU 47-38.
Deavion Ellis (North Bergen, NJ) had a solid day at the office, chipping in 14 points to go along with five assists and three steals while
Abdallah Elsaleh (North Bergen, NJ) rounded out the topr scorers, registering 11 points in 18 minutes of work.
Now on the Bears radar will be their third contest in a four-game homestand on Wednesday, January 25 against Alliance University. The CACC contest with the Warriors is set for a 7:30 pm tip-off in The Den.
