BLOOMFIELD, NJ– Despite trailing for 85.0 percent of the game, The Bloomfield College men's basketball team clawed out a 77-67 victory Wednesday evening against Post University. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) thriller in The Den improved the Bears record to 7-6 overall and more importantly 4-1 in league play while the Eagles fell to 7-7 on the year and just 2-3 in conference play.
The Bloomfield offense was powered by a career-high from senior forward,
Josh Morris (Ewing, NJ) who netted 26 points in 26 minutes of action. The home team's second leading scorer on the season, Morris went 10-of-20 from the field and snagged 6 rebounds.
Tyrek Battle Holley (Jersey City, NJ) who was named to the CACC Honor Roll this week, finished with a game-high 9 boards to go along with 14 points.
Deavion Ellis (North Bergen, NJ) came off the bench to pour in 16 points which included three, 3-pointers as the Bears were firing on all cylinders. As a team, they shot 41.7 percent from beyond the arc (10-of-24) and
Abdallah Elsaleh (North Bergen, NJ) knocked down 3-of-4 from long-range to finish with 11 points on the night.
Next up will be Molloy University on Saturday at noon. The battle with the Lions will be Bloomfield's last non-conference opponent of the regular season.
