BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bears volleyball team dug out a come-from-behind victory against Post University Wednesday night in The Den. Bloomfield won the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) thriller, 3-2 which included a hard fought, 25-23 fourth set win to push the game to a deciding set.
The home win pushed the Bears to 2-8 overall and 2-6 in league action while the Eagles dropped to 2-5 in conference play and 2-16 overall this season. The visitors set the tone with a, 25-18 opening set win but Bloomfield clawed back in Set 2 to take a 25-23 win and even the match. Post played a strong third set, 25-19 but after the Bears clawed out Set 4, the home team fed off the crowd to claim the fifth set, 15-13.
Ronaya Moore racked up a team-high 12 kills followed by Amanda Arroyo and Lauryn Hansford who had 11 and 10 kills respectively. Arroyo also chipped in a team-high 25 assists while Hansford added 18 assists to go along with her team-high of 15 digs. The CACC Weekly Honor Roll recipient, Esther Dogbe had 4 blocks and a service ace. Kyomaris Morales had a good day at the office, posting 11 digs and 3 service aces for the home squad.
Bloomfield will hit the road for their next match on Saturday when they face Georgian Court University. The Lions welcome the Bears for their homecoming on October 14 as the CACC teams are set for a 10:00 am scheduled start.
