BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The volleyball team dropped a tough match at home, 3-1 to Wilmington University on Saturday. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest in The Den left the Bears at 1-8 overall mark and 1-6 in league action while the Wildcats improved to 4-3 in conference play and 10-8 overall this season.
The visitors captured the opening set, 25-13 but Bloomfield clawed back for a 25-20 win in Set 2. Wilmington came back to claw out Set 3, 25-19 before putting the match away in the fourth by a score of 25-21.
Ronaya Moore had a season-high 16 kills followed by Esther Dogbe who added 12 kills. Lauryn Hansford paced the offence with 35 assists complemented by 14 digs in the game. Sophia Wintonick had a team-high 15 digs along with a service ace. Kyomaris Morales had a solid day, posting 13 digs, 7 kills and 3 blocks for the home squad.
Bloomfield will welcome Post University on Wednesday, October 11 for another CACC home contest. The Eagles swoop into The Den for a 7:00 pm scheduled start.
