BEARS GO LIGHTS-OUT IN THE FIRST HALF POWERED BY ROBINSON'S CAREER-HIGH TO TAME THE LIONS IN THE DEN DURING CACC TOURNEY OPENING ROUND

BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bloomfield College men's basketball team advanced to the semifinals of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament Tuesday night with a, 91-74 victory over Georgian Court University. The opening round win was powered by sophomore forward, Wesley Robinson (Burlington, NJ) who netted a career-high, 32 points on 13-for-17 shooting from the floor in just twenty-seven minutes of work. The Bears, seeded #2 in the CACC North Division, improved to 18-10 on the year while the Lions' season came to a close with a record of 12-16.
 
It was lights-out in The Den during the first half as Bloomfield dazzled the home crowd with an electrifying, 21-for-31 shooting performance led by Robinson who made 10-of-11 baskets in the opening frame. The #3 team from the CACC's South Division couldn't keep up as the Bears enjoyed their highest offensive shooting percentage in a half (67.7 percent) and built a 57-39 lead on the scoreboard at the break. Senior guard, Tyrek Battle-Holley (Jersey City, NJ) went 5-for-6 in the half and total 12 points in the half behind Robinson's 24.
 
By the end of the night, the home team had made 51.5 percent of their shots (34-66) and secured a spot in the CACC Semifinals. Deavion Ellis (North Bergen, NJ) finished his first postseason game with a career-high, 18 points on 6-for-12 shooting and All-CACC First Team member, Andres Fulgencio (Englewood, NJ) ended the night with 12 points on four three-pointers.
 
The CACC Tournament now shifts to Thomas Jefferson University as they host the semifinal match-ups on Saturday and the Championship final on Sunday at the Gallagher Center in Philadelphia.
