BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The volleyball team played their home opener on Saturday afternoon and fell to the University of Bridgeport (10-2, 3-0 CACC) in four sets. The Bears came out strong with a, 25-21 win in Set 1 but the visitors responded with three straight sets of, 25-9, 25-20 and 25-21 to take the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match.
Bloomfield (0-4, 0-3 CACC) saw good play from outside hitter, Nathaly Flores who led the team with 11 kills. Libero, Sophia Wintonick recorded a game-high, 15 digs while Lauryn Hansford added 13 digs for the home team. Amanda Arroyo directed the offense with 23 assists and contributed 3 service aces. Kyomaris Morales had a solid day in defense as she notched 12 digs.
Bloomfield will welcome another CACC opponent to The Den when Dominican University comes calling on Wednesday. The conference action on September 27th is scheduled for an 8:00 pm first serve.
