BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bears volleyball team played their second game at home on Wednesday night and for the second straight time dropped a, 3-1 match, this time to Dominican University. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) battle in The Den left Bloomfield with a 0-5 overall mark and 0-4 in league action while the Chargers remained unbeaten in conference play at, 4-0 and improved to 6-9 overall on the season.
The home team fought hard and captured the opening set, 25-20. Dominican returned the favor with 25-20 wins in sets 2 & 3 before closing out the match 25-15 in the fourth set. Bloomfield saw CACC Honor Roll member, Nathaly Flores lead the way with a team-high 14 kills. Flores' performance, which included three services aces was aided by a game-high 37 assists from Amanda Arroyo who also chipped in 5 digs. Lauryn Hansford registered a game-high, 18 digs followed by libero, Sophia Wintonick who pitched in a season-high, 17 digs.
Bloomfield will hit the road this Saturday for another CACC battle as Chestnut Hill College awaits. The Griffins roll out the welcome mat in Philadelphia for a 12:00 pm first serve.
