BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The men's basketball team were focused down the stretch of their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match-up Saturday afternoon and held on for a, 78-70 victory over Wilmington University. The Bears captured their 6th-straight win and pushed their overall mark to, 14-6 with a 6-3 record in the CACC North Division. 
The Wildcats on the road trailed the entire game but made a late push that threatened the home team before dropping to 11-8 overall and 5-3 in league play after the setback. Bloomfield scored the first six points of the game and were powered by a double-double from the CACC Defensive Player of the Week, Edward Ngene who scored 14 points (6-10 FG, 2-4 FT) to go along with 10 boards and 3 blocks. The CACC Rookie of the Week, Starrell Hearns also had 14 points (3-10 FG, 1-5 3PT, 7-9 FT) off the bench and snagged 6 rebounds.
The home team built an eight-point lead going into halftime up, 34-26 and despite Wilmu closing to within six (45-39) in the 2nd half, Bloomfield found the answers to take a 70-53 advantage with only 3:28 to play. The Wildcats had another attack in them and pressed the Bears to pull within five, 75-70 with 21 seconds on the clock. With the home crowd on the edge of their seats, Bloomfield answered the call from the freethrow line to cement their fifth straight CACC victory.
Deavion Ellis ended the day with 12 points, going 3-for-11 from the field and a perfect, 6-for-6 from the charity stripe. Abdallah Elsaleh added 10 points (4-12 FG, 2-2 FT) and 7 boards to the Bloomfield effort.
Next up, the Bears hit the road for another CACC battle when they square-off with Felician University on Tuesday, February 6. The Golden Falcons are set to host Bloomfield at JJJ Gymnasium for an 8:00 pm battle showdown to complete their season series.
