2024 CACC E SPORTS CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (November 12, 2024) -- The 2024 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) E Sports Super Smash Bros. Championship gets underway Tuesday night with the semifinals at 9 p.m., held virtually, on each participating campus. This year marks the inaugural CACC E Sports Championship Tournament in Super Smash Bros. Tuesday's two semifinal winner will advance to the CACC Championship Final in Super Smash Bros. next Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 9 p.m.
Top-seeded Bloomfield College will take on fourth-seeded Dominican University in one semifinal on Tuesday night, followed by second-seeded Post University facing third-seeded Goldey-Beacom College. Bloomfield finished first in the regular-season standings in Super Smash Bros. with a perfect 6-0 record in matches, a 12-1 game record and +66 stock differential. Post posted a 3-3 match record, while GBC followed at 2-4 and Dominican at 1-5 in league matches.
Each Super Smash Bros. contest in the tournament will feature a best-of-three format.
ABOUT THE CACC
The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its affiliation with NCAA Division II. Conference institutions compete for championships in 18 sports – eight for men, nine for women, and one co-ed. The CACC contains 12 members in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Membership includes Bloomfield College of Montclair State University, the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican University New York, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
