BLOOMFIELD, NJ – A tightly-contested battle in The Den saw the Bears men's basketball team come away with a, 76-71 victory over Post University on Tuesday night. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division face-off improved the Bears overall record at, 16-7 and 8-4 in league play. Bloomfield held onto their 1^st place status in the CACC North while the visiting Eagles dropped to 15-7 overall and 6-5 in league matches. 

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
·      Starrell Hearns came off the bench to score a team-high, 15 points (5-9 FG, 2-3 3PT, 3-6 FT) and 3 assists and four rebounds
·      Al Fatir Connor recorded 10 points (2-7 FG, 1-1 3PT, 5-6 FT) in 35 minutes of action
·      Edward Ngene added 9 points (4-9 FG, 1-2 FT) snagged 11 rebounds and blocked 4 shots

KEY MOMENTS
·      The contest opened up with back-to-back dunks for the Bears but Post responded with six-straight points and the see-saw battle was underway. The teams would settle on, 35-35 at the halftime break as they traded buckets throughout the first frame. 
·      Bloomfield shot 43.3 percent (13-30) from the field in the first half and Post went 14-for-38 (36.8 percent) heading into the break. 
·      The Bears opened up a ten-point advantage in the 2^nd half (57-47) off a Hearns dunk as the up-and-down pace continued. Another Hearns dunk gave the home team their largest lead of 65-50 with 8:46 remaining on the clock. Post closed the game on a 5-0 run (76-71) but eventually surrendered the league game to the home team and split the season series.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
·      Zamarion Singleton had 7 points at the half and finished the night with 10 points (4-9 FG, 1-4 3-PT, 1-2 FT) to go along with 4 assists
·      Bloomfield got back on the winning track and are now winners of 8-of their-last 9 games
 
WHAT'S NEXT
·      The Bears next contest will be Saturday February 17 when they travel to face Chestnut Hill College at 3:00 p.m.
·      Bloomfield will return to The Den on Tuesday February 20 when they host Dominican University at 7:30 p.m.
