NEW HAVEN, Conn. (July 16, 2025) – A record 2,353 student-athletes have been named to the Spring 2025 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Academic Honor Roll, CACC Commissioner
Dan Mara announced today. The total includes student-athletes from the conference's 12 full-time member institutions in 2024-25 plus associate member Lincoln (Pa.) University.
Established in 2023-24, the CACC Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who achieve a grade-point average of 3.00 or higher during a semester and are listed on the institution's official squad list for their sport. This spring's total is comprised of athletes from nearly 180 teams competing in all 16 CACC championship sports, regardless of season.
Each CACC student-athlete is eligible to be recognized on the Academic Honor Roll twice during each academic year. The 2,353 student-athletes honored for the spring 2025 semester surpass the
previous record of 2,256 for Fall 2024.
"The high number of student-athletes on the Academic Honor Roll illustrates their dedication in the classroom while balancing a demanding schedule of practices and games," Mara said. "Each of the CACC member schools does an outstanding job of stressing the importance of being a standout in the classroom just as much as being a standout in their respective sport."
The CACC Academic Honor Roll honors student-athletes on three levels of achievement. Those earning perfect 4.00 GPAs were granted the Faculty Athletics Representative Award of Distinction. The President's Level was bestowed upon those achieving GPAs of 3.50 to 3.99. And student-athletes earning GPAs of 3.00 to 3.49 for the semester were honored at the Commissioner's Level. A total of 367 student-athletes earned the FAR Award of Distinction in spring 2025.
Holy Family University led the conference with 266 representatives on the Spring 2025 CACC Academic Honor Roll. Four other institutions claimed more than 200 honorees – Georgian Court University (254), Felician University (230), Wilmington University (221), and Caldwell University (202). Post University placed the most student-athletes, 54, on the FAR Award of Distinction Level (4.00 GPA). Holy Family (46), Georgian Court (45), Thomas Jefferson University (44), and the University of Bridgeport (40) also had 40 or more.
