OAKDALE, NY: The men's basketball team pushed their winning streak to two games Tuesday night, as they dominated the Dowling College Golden Lions en route to an 81-67 road victory, bringing their record to 3-2 on the young season.
Despite shooting just 25% from the floor in the first half, the Deacons were able to build a slim 30-29 lead at the end of the first 20 minutes of play. Finding their stride on the offensive end of the floor in the second half, Bloomfield was able to shoot a much-improved 46% from the floor and 9-12 from the free throw line, while holding the Golden Lions to just 37% shooting for the contest.
Senior
Wilson Pilarte put on his best performance of the young season in the win, notching 19 points and five rebounds while connecting on five of his eight attempts from beyond the arc.
Gage Daye finished the night with 22 points to lead the Deacons, while
Chris Sampson posted a game-high 19 rebounds while notching 12 points on the offensive end.
The Deacons return to action on December 8, when they take on conference rival Caldwell College in their home opener. Tip-off is set for 8:00 PM.
