BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - The Bloomfield College women's volleyball team fell to 0-13 overall and 0-5 in conference play Friday night, as they dropped a 3-1 (20-25, 25-27, 20-25, 21-25) home decision to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival Dominican College.
For the Lady Deacons, rookie
Elizabeth Meyer (Otsego, Mn.) led the club with 12 kills in the loss, while junior
Deandra Black (East Brunswick, N.J.) totaled nine kills in the setback. Rookies
Courtney Leigh-Albios (Kaneohe, Hi.) and
Ashley Wright (Moreno Valley, Ca.) each totaled eight kills apiece.
Defensively, three players reached double figures in digs for Bloomfield to lead the defensive effort. Wright led the Lady Deacons with 16 digs in the contest, while fellow rookie
Jacquelyn Madlock (Alta Loma, Ca.) totaled 14 digs along with a game-high 34 assists in the loss. Albios posted 10 digs in the setback.
Bloomfield returns to action Oct. 5, when the Lady Deacons travel to take on CACC South Division rival the University of the Sciences and non-conference opponent the University of New Haven in a weekend road tri-match. Start time for the opening match of the day is scheduled for 11 a.m.
