Bloomfield drops pair in weekend tri-match

PHILADELPHIA - The Bloomfield College women's volleyball team fell to 0-15 overall and 0-6 in conference play Saturday afternoon, as they dropped both legs of a weekend road tri-match to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South Division rival the University of the Sciences and non-conference opponent the University of New Haven by 3-0 margins. 

In the 3-0 (14-25, 12-25, 20-25) loss to the University of the Sciences, rookie Juliette Monroy (Rahway, N.J.) led the Bloomfield attack with five kills in the setback.  Fellow rookie Ashley Wright (Moreno Valley, Ca.) notched four kills and nine digs in the loss, while rookie Libero Sharon Batiz (Ponce, P.R.) totaled a team high 10 digs in the match. 

In the 3-0 (13-25, 21-25, 17-25) loss to New Haven, Monroy again led the club's offensive attack with seven kills in the match.  Wright led the defensive effort with 14 digs, while Batiz totaled 13 digs in the loss.  Junior Deandra Black (East Brunswick, N.J.) totaled six kills in the loss. 

Bloomfield returns to action Oct. 11, when they travel to take on CACC North Division rival Felician College.  Start time for the match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
