Garden City, NY - Bloomfield College Men's Basketball dropped a non-conference game to The College of Saint Rose today, 94-82 during the opening game of this weekend's Holiday Tournament hosted by Adelphi University. The loss snaps the Deacons three game winning streak and leaves them at 5-6 overall on the season. 

The Deacons had trouble getting it going out of the gate as The College of Saint Rose's steady attack amounted to a ten point lead at the half. The second half proved to be more of the same with Bloomfield only able to cut the Golden Knight's lead to six before succumbing to the 12 point defeat. Bloomfield shot just 38.5% from the field while Saint Rose managed to convert over 50% of their buckets for the game.

All five starters for the Deacons scored in double figures with sophomore Caude Blue (Brooklyn, NY) leading the way with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Freshman John Powell (Ashland, MA) went 5-5 from the free throw line to contribute to a 13 point total in his starting role.

Next up Bloomfield will face the Holiday Tournament hosts, Adelphi University tomorrow, December 22 with a 3:30pm tipoff.
