In the loss to Southern Connecticut, the Lady Deacons were able to jump out to a 1-0 lead in the match after a decisive 25-14 victory in the opening set.  But the Owls would rebound to take the next three sets to take a 3-1 match victory, dropping Bloomfield to 0-8 on the season.  Rookie Juliette Monroy (Rahway, N.J.) posted a team-high 10 kills in the loss, while fellow freshmen Elizabeth Meyer (Otsego, Mn.) and Ashley Wright (Moreno Valley, Ca.) each totaled nine kills in the setback.  Rookie setter Jacquelyn Madlock (Alta Loma, Ca.) set a career high with a game-high 39 assists, while Meyer, Monroy and rookie Sharon Batiz (Ponce, P.R.) led the defensive effort with 15 digs apiece.
