BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - The Bloomfield College women's volleyball team defeated the Mavericks of Mercy College in straight sets this evening at the Bloomfield Gym on Tuesday evening. In just a little over an hour the Bears posted scores of 25-17, 25-23 and 25-17 to take the victory and move to 11-10 on the season. The setback leaves the Mavericks at 4-18 on the year and marks their sixth consecutive loss.

Diannmarie Rivera (Trujillo Alto, P.R.) who finished the match with 7 kills and 10 digs.
Mercy tried to steal back a set in the 2nd, taking the Bears to the distance at 24-23 but a service error would seal their fate and Bloomfield secured a two set lead.
Bloomfield's offense ran thru sophomore setter
Jacquelyn Madlock (Alta Loma, C.A.) who registered 27 assists on the night and in the third set the Bears took command 20-10, scoring ten points in a row with Madlock serving on nine of them. Coach Amamble Martinez then sent in sophomore
Caitlyn Naylor (Tacoma, W.A) to finish out the game in Madlock's place and the Bears cruised to the match win.

Ashley Wright (Moreno Valley, C.A.) posted a double-double with a match-high 10 kills to go along with 10 digs and Rios had a solid night adding 14 digs to the Bears effort. Naylor recorded 4 assists in her third set stint.
The Bears hibernate for the night before travelling up the road to visit Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival, Felician College tomorrow for a 7:00pm match. Bloomfield is currently 7-4 in CACC play and will be facing a Golden Falcons team who have a 3-9 record in conference action.
