PHILADELPHIA, P.A. - Bloomfield College volleyball saw a four game win streak halted by Chestnut Hill College on Saturday evening as they fell 3-1 on the road in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action. The Griffins picked up their third consecutive CACC win and improved to 13-12 on the year with a 8-6 conference mark while the Bears fall to 13-11 overall and 9-5 in league play.
Chestnut Hill took the opening set 25-23 but Bloomfield came back strong in the second, leaping out to an 11-5 lead before widening the margin to 20-8. The Bears conclude the set with a 25-14 win but the third set saw the conference foes go point-for-point before the Griffins seized control late, to take a 25-21 victory and a 2-1 match edge. In the fourth set, Bloomfield battled Chestnut Hill to ties at 15-15, 17-17, 18-18, 19-19, and for the last time at 23-23 but the Griffins fed off their home crowd and soared to a climatic 25-23 final, and 3-1 match win.
The Bears were led by junior
Diannmarie Rivera (Trujillo Alto, P.R.) with a game-high 19 kills on an impressive .364 hitting percentage. Sophomore setter
Jacquelyn Madlock (Alta Loma, C.A) posted a season-high 46 assists to go along with 11 digs, while freshman libero
Samantha Rios (Juncos, P.R.) had a team-high 29 digs.
On the Chestnut Hill side
Rachel Biro (Nazareth, P.A.) recorded 18 kills on a .222 hitting percentage and setter
Alyssa Tamsing (Ventura, C.A.) posted 39 assists and eight digs.
Regina Trabosh finished the match with a game-high 30 digs for the Griffins defense.
The Bears aim to bounce back on Wednesday, October 29 when they host the Warriors of Nyack College at 7:00 pm.
