Matt Hall (Brooklyn, N.Y.) recorded a team-high 20 points, but the Bloomfield College men's basketball team dropped an 81-77 decision to the Dolphins of Le Moyne College Saturday afternoon in the first game of the Northeast-10 Challenge presented by Hilton Garden Inn-Albany Medical Center at The College of Saint Rose's Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium. The Bears begin their 2014-2015 season at 0-1 while the Dolphins enjoy a 1-0 start.
Hall went 9-18 from the field and added seven rebounds and seven assists for Bloomfield. Junior guard
Clarence White (Bronx, N.Y.) contributed 16 points off the bench for the Bears while senior starter
Marvin Williams (Jersey City, N.J.) chipped in 15 points and 3 assists.
Claude Blue started the season out with a double-double, scoring fourteen points on 7-for-7 shooting from the field and pulling down a game-high eleven rebounds.
On Le Moyne's side of the ball, Nate Gause (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) notched a career-high 30 points on the evening and led all scorers. Starters

Qwadere Lovell (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) and
Ryan Romich (Groton, Mass) poured in 16, 15 and 12 points respectively. Romich grabbed a team-high 9 rebounds in the Dolphins win in Albany.
The Bears shot 50.0% (32-64) from the field for the game and were just edged out by Le Moyne's 50.9% (29-57). Both teams made eight 3-pointers during the contest but the Dolphins held a 20-9 advantage in charity strip chances and converted 75.0% (15-20) of them. They also held the edge off the glass 35-31 over the Bears
The Bears will hibernate for the night and regroup tomorrow at 5:00 pm when they square off with the tournament host, The College of Saint Rose.
