BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - The Bloomfield College Bears volleyball team soared in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action, defeating the Eagles of Post University in four sets. Amable Martinez picked up his first career win against Post moving the Bears record to 4-5 overall on the season and 1-0 in conference play. The Eagles fall to 4-4 on the young season and 0-1 in CACC action.

Diannmarie Rivera (Trujillo Alto, P.R.) shined bright with season highs of 21 kills and 21 digs to lead the Bears attack. Defensively, freshman
Samantha Rios (Juncos, P.R.) notched a career high 36 digs while sophomore setter
Jacquelyn Madlock (Alta Loma, C.A.) paced the Bloomfield offense with her season high 45 assists.
The Bears clawed back into the match after dropping the first set to even it out with a toughly contested win in the second. The Bloomfield crowd played a major role in energizing the team as they got their first taste of action on the home court. The Bears would take advantage with a commanding win in the third set before staving off a charge from the Eagles to close out the match in the fourth.
Bloomfield's next contest will be next week Wednesday, September 24th when they travel up the highway to face the Warriors of Nyack College with a 7:00pm start time.
