Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/18/24) The Bears women's volleyball team suffered a, 3-0 setback to Dominican University on Wednesday on the road in their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener.
The Chargers improved to 2-3 overall and 1-0 in the CACC while Bloomfield College of Montclair State University fell to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
The Bears saw the match open with a 25-17 loss as Dominican took a 1-0 lead. The Chargers used a 17-6 run to take the second set 25-14. Bloomfield led 9-7 early in set three but the home team used a 12-1 run to seize control and capture the match after the 25-15 final set win.
Kyomaris Morales finished the evening with 8 kills while
Ronaya Moore and
Amaia Oliver each recorded a service ace and block for Bloomfield.
Amanda Arroyo tallied 11 assists and Rayssa Oliver had 8 digs and a block for the visitors.
The Bears return to action on Saturday when they square-off in their first tri-match of the season. Bloomfield will travel to Assumption University to face Southern New Hampshire University at 1:30pm. The 4:00pm match will feature the Bears taking on the Greyhounds in the Andrew Laska Gymnasium.
