HIGHLIGHTS: This 1964 graduate participated in basketball all four years under Coach Bob Nichols and baseball for three years under Athletic Director Al Restaino. As a basketball player, Groeling was selected to the All C.A.C.C. Conference team in '61 - '62 and participated on the ‘62 and '63 teams that won the C.A.C.C. and went to the regional finals. "The 1963 season was special," said Groeling. "Besides being a great team we ended Glassboro State's 18-game winning streak in the NAIA tournament.” Groeling played third base on the Deacons' baseball squad but opted not to play his senior year.

"If I could share one thing with the young athletes of today," said Groeling, "it would be to enjoy your college experiences in athletics as you will have lifetime memories. Some of my best friends at Bloomfield were made through basketball and baseball. But keep in mind an education is the number one reason for going to college."

TODAY: Groeling has worked for the Reliance Insurance Company for the last 23 years.
He is Assistant V.P. of Claims Operations in the Northeast Region. He resides in Haddonfield, NJ with his wife, Margie (a '65 graduate of Bloomfield College) and three sons, Jim (21), Tom (19) and Phil (14).
