HIGHLIGHTS: This 1985 graduate played basketball under Pat Cole for four years, volleyball under Sue winning for two years. and played one season of softball for Nancy Bottge. She was the first woman in B.C. basketball history to score 1,000 points (career 1.705), the first woman to collect 1,000 rebounds (career 1, 125), and the first to hold 24 women's basketball individual records, including being named the team's MVP three out of four years. In addition to her college achievements, Welch-Wooten was named women's Sports Federation All-American in '83 - 184 and '84 - 185, All-District 31 three out of four years, first team C.A.C.C. All Star team three out four years and Kodak All-District in 1985.
 
"It was great playing all those sports," said Welch-Wooten. “The thing I remember most about playing sports here was the sense of unity I got with the players and staff. Everyone seemed to care about each other and that meant a lot. If there is one thing I can share with the athletes of today, it would be to play sports because of the competition and the team building."
 
TODAY: Welch-Wooten currently works with INROADS, an Associate National Career Development organization. She resides in Irvington, NJ with her husband, Vincent.
