PHILADELPHIA, PA - The women's soccer team fell to 2-13-1 on the season Saturday afternoon, as they dropped a 3-1 decision to CACC rival Chestnut Hill College in their final conference road match of the 2010 season. The setback drops the Lady Deacons to 0-11-1 in CACC action.
After falling behind in the 27th minute, Coach Egan's group was able to draw even in the waning minutes of the first half, when senior
Erika Len knocked in a cross from
Mikie Bradley to even the contest at one in the 42nd minute.
After the break, it was the Lady Griffins who would prove to make the necessary adjustments, as a pair of goals in the final 45 minutes of action proved to be the difference in the match. Lauren Riiff's second goal of the day in the 57th minute gave Chestnut Hill a 2-1 advantage, and a tally in the 86th minute would thwart any hopes of a Bloomfield comeback and make the final score 3-1.
The team returns to action Monday, October 25 with their final home match of the season against St. Thomas Acquinas. The club's seven seniors will be honored at the game with a short ceremony.
