Warriors edge Lady Deacons 3-2

NYACK, NY - The women's volleyball team fell to 8-13 overall and 7-9 in CACC play Tuesday evening, as they dropped a hard-fought 3-2 decision to North Division rival Nyack College in a critical road clash.

The Lady Deacons appeared on their way to a decisive victory, taking the first set 25-18 and outlasting the Lady Warriors in a 28-26 second set to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the contest.  But the home team rallied to take the third set 25-18, and forced a decisive fifth set with a 25-20 win in set number four.  A seesaw battle ensued in the final frame, but it was the Lady Warriors who ultimately came out on top, completing the comeback with a 15-12 victory in the fifth set to take a 3-2 victory in the match.

Uerequenia Pereira continued her brilliant play in the loss, posting a game-high 21 kills and 20 digs.  Da'Cheray Thomas posted 10 kills, while Brittany Devries and Evelyn Ferreira were outstanding on the defensive end, posting 33 and 25 digs respectively in the setback.

The team returns to action Friday, October 29 with a key CACC North Division road test against Post University.  The opening whistle is set for 7:00 PM.
