PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (October 15, 2011) - Bloomfield's women's volleyball team fell to 6-11 overall and 5-9 in CACC play Saturday afternoon, as they dropped a 3-0 road decision to CACC South Division opponent Holy Family University. Holy Family improved to 15-10 overall and 12-1 in conference action with the victory.
The Lady Deacons came up on the short end of a hard-fought first set, falling 17-25 to the South Division's top club through 13 conference matches. Bloomfield could not mount a comeback effort against a tough Tigers squad, dropping 10-25, and 12-25 decisions over the final two sets to move to 3-6 in road matches this season.
Junior
Da'Cheray Thomas (Newark, N.J.) led the offensive effort for the Lady Deacons, totaling seven kills and a block-assist in the loss.
Allison Hart (Pagosa Springs, Co.),
Clodesh Marie Montano (Carolina, P.R.) and
Gabriella Betoni (Jaragua, Brazil) paced the defense, each tallying seven digs in the setback.
Bloomfield returns to action Tuesday, October 18 with a road match against CACC North Division rival Concordia College. Start time for the contest is set for 7:00 PM.
