BLOOMFIELD, N.J. (October 8, 2011) - Bloomfield's women's soccer team fell to 2-8 overall and 0-6 in conference play Saturday afternoon, as they dropped a 3-0 decision to CACC rival Holy Family University in their first home contest of the 2011 season.
Meghan Tole gave the Tigers a 1-0 advantage in the 11th minute of the match, tallying a goal off an assist from Dawn Curry. Kimber Kisselback moved the Holy Family lead to 2-0 in the 35th minute, notching a breakaway goal to put the Lady Deacons down a pair.
Bloomfield would total six shots and held the advantage 4-0 in corner kicks on the afternoon, but could not find the back of the net to mount a second-half comeback. Holy Family would add their final goal in the in the 59th minute, with Curry notching a tally off a direct kick to bring the final tally to 3-0.
Christine Rutherford (North Arlington, N.J.),
Katie Reale (Southampton, N.J.) and
Dani Andreas (Jackson, N.J.) each notched a shot on goal in the setback, while freshman keeper
Katrina Guevara (North Plainfield, N.J.) made four saves in the loss.
Bloomfield returns to action Tuesday, October 11 with a road contest against CACC rival Post University. Start time for the contest is set for 3:00 PM.
