LAKEWOOD, N.J. (September 24, 2011) - Bloomfield's women's soccer team fell to 1-6 overall and 0-4 in conference play Saturday afternoon, as they dropped a 5-0 road decision to CACC rival Georgian Court University.
The Lady Deacons fell behind in the ninth minute, when Farrell Pomponio put the Lions up 1-0 with an unassisted goal. Amber Schlosser moved the lead to 2-0 with a tally on a deflected cross in the 25th minute, and penalty kick goal by Kelly Lyons moved the Georgian Court advantage to 3-0 38 minutes into the contest.
The Bloomfield attack was able to engineer five shots and a corner kick opportunity, but the visitors would prove unable to mount a second-half comeback. Kerry Ann Strohmeier gave the Lions their fourth goal of the afternoon in the 66th minute, and Alexa Niro concluded the scoring in the 82nd minute to give Georgian Court their fifth goal of the contest.

Jocelyn Prescott (Cherry Hill, NJ) each notched a shot in the loss.
"Unfortunately we simply did not play our best game today," Bloomfield head coach Katie Egan said. "We have some areas we need to correct, but we have another opportunity Tuesday to get back on track against a quality opponent. Hopefully this is an experience we can learn from."
Bloomfield returns to action Tuesday, September 27 with a road match against CACC rival Concordia College. Start time for the match is set for 4:00 PM.
