LAKEWOOD, N.J. (October 13) - The Bloomfield College women's soccer team fell to 2-9 overall and 1-8 in conference play Saturday afternoon, as they dropped a 1-0 road decision to CACC rival Georgian Court University.
An early strike by Georgian Court's Katie Vecchio gave the Lions the lead in just the third minute of the match, putting the Lady Deacons in a 1-0 hole in the early stages of the contest. Bloomfield would total a pair of shots on the afternoon, but would prove unable to net the equalizer, as the Lions would hold on for the one-goal victory and leave the Lady Deacons still in search of their first conference victory of the season.
Senior
Michelle Cadena (Clifton, N.J.) and rookie
Angelica Rodriguez (North Plainfield, N.J.) each registered a shot on goal in the loss, while junior keeper
Sashagay Spence (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica) totaled 10 saves in the setback.
Bloomfield returns to action Wednesday, October 17 when they welcome CACC foe Concordia College to Foley Field for a home conference match. Kickoff for the contest is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
