Deacons fall to Nyack in home opener

The Bloomfield College baseball team fell to 0-2 on the season Thursday afternoon, as they dropped a 10-1 home decision to Nyack College at Westside Park.

Senior third baseman Anthony Koban (Elmwood Park, N.J.) led Bloomfied with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate, driving in the club's lone run of the afternoon on an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth.  Reyvis Rivas (Union City, N.J.), Paul Chong (Rutherford, N.J.), Kevin Caraballo (Jersey City, N.J.) and Joe Meola (Maplewood, N.J.) each notched a single apiece for the Deacons in the loss, while junior outfielder Felipe Medrano (Santiago, D.R.) notched a double to round out the club's seven hits.

Bloomfield returns to action Sunday, March 3, when they welcome American International College for an early-season doubleheader.  First pitch for the opener is scheduled for Noon at Westside Park.
