PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - The Bloomfield College baseball team improved to 19-11 overall Wednesday afternoon, as they topped Northeast-Ten Conference opponent Pace University 8-2 in a road non-conference contest.
The Deacons offense engineered a relentless attack in the nine-inning affair, scoring at least one run in the first seven innings of the game to reach eight tallies on the afternoon. Junior third baseman
Anthony Koban (Elmwood Park, N.J.) got Bloomfield on the board with an RBI single in the top of the first, while first baseman
Rafael Medina (Key Largo, Fl.) belted his CACC-leading seventh home run of the season in the top of the third to push the advantage to 4-2. Koban added his second RBI of the day on a sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth, while sophomore catcher
Reyvis Rivas (Union City, N.J.) belted his first career home run in the top of the fifth to make the score 5-2 in favor of the visitors. Medina added an RBI single in the sixth to push his total to three runs batted in on the day, with Bloomfield's final run of the day coming on a Pace University wild pitch. The pitching quintet of

John Vilichka (Port Reading, N.J.), David Martinez (Staten Island, N.Y.) and
Luis Nova (Santo Domingo, D.R.) combined to limit the Setters to just two runs on seven hits on the afternoon, leading the Deacons to their 19th victory of the season.
Medina, Rivas,
Jonattan Fernandez (Woodland Park, N.J.) and
Danny Arango (Queens, N.Y.) each totaled two hits apiece in the win, with Medina and Koban combining for five RBIs in the victory.
Bloomfield returns to action Saturday, April 21 when they travel to face CACC rival Philadelphia University in a conference doubleheader. First pitch for the opener is scheduled for Noon.
